Ashley Forrest 2014
Two AVR customers competed at the Ashley Forrest rallysprint recently. Luke McLennan with his Mitsi EVO3 and Peter McLaren with his Subaru WRX RA.
Pete’s weekend did not start too well breaking 2nd gear in the first run. This meant the remainder of Saturday’s runs were lost while a replacement gear box was fitted putting him behind the eight ball for the rest of the weekend to finish 22nd. Luke put in a good drive to finish 12th overall.
Both cars are fitted with Life Racing F88-RLH ecu’s using the closed loop knock control, closed loop lambda control & closed loop launch control provided in the ecu. The protection system provided with the ecu’s use oil pressure, fuel pressure, engine temp, voltage, lean on load lambda, along with knock cylinder shut down. It was also good to be able to use the on board logging at Ashley forest to check all was ok with Lukes fresh install (165 items logged - 30 items for knock control alone at 1000hz burst logging). For these guys 99% of the time the logging will never be needed – but if a problem crops up having every thing logged in great detail helps to quickly nail down what is/isn’t the cause.
