Riley’s RX7 FD3 Bridgeport turbo update

The 13B REW full bridgeport fitted to the car along with the Garret T04Z turbo. The next phase is the V-mount radiator & intercooler system.

Exedy twin plate

The Exedy  twin plate clutch & flywheel kit while heavy at around 3x the weight of the AP twin plate clutch/flywheel in the AVR RX7 racecar does  offer robust durability – where as the AP unit in the racecar tends to warp its plates if slipped & abused.

To cover the fuel requirements (and future proof for more power at a latter stage) the entire fuel system has been fully revamped. ID2000cc secondary injectors & ID1000cc have been fitted up front along with the appropriate fuel rails along with AN fittings/braided hose for bling & safety. Twin fuel lines with twin fuel filters have been run under the car.

Fuel pumps

For the fuel pumps twin Siemens 315 L/hr pumps have been fitted up inside the Standard RX7 fuel tank. The flow capacity of each of these pumps almost matches the benchmark Bosch 044 pumps commonly used, however the Siemens units are considerably more compact than the 044 making the act of fitting 2 of these in an OEM fuel tank much easier.

The other aspect of the fuel pump upgrade was getting the appropriately sized power & ground wires into the tank to power the twin pumps. This was overcome with a 4-pin through tank hermetically sealed connector kit (these are the wires you can see exiting the top of the pump assembly in the picture). This left the standard connector to run the fuel level sender.

The other bonus with the Siemens pumps is at $230 each they are quite a bit cheaper than the 044's. Feel free to call AVR Performance order the Siemens 315L/hr (at 3bar) fuel pumps and/or the 4-way through tank power connector.
